Routine is one of th

Routine is one of the best things you can do for your health, and scheduling in exercise is a big part of that. 📅

When movement becomes a regular part of your day rather than an afterthought, your body starts to respond. Strength improves, energy levels lift, and the long term benefits for your joints, muscles and overall wellbeing are significant.

The tricky part for a lot of people is knowing where to start, especially if pain or injury has been getting in the way of staying active.

At West Lakes Physio, we can help you get moving safely and build a routine that works for your body and your lifestyle. 💪

Whether you're recovering from an injury or just want to move better and feel stronger, we're here to help you get there. 🙌

Did you know that th

Did you know that the surface you run on can have a big impact on your injury risk? 🏃

Hard surfaces like concrete and bitumen create significantly more impact through your feet, ankles, knees and hips with every stride.

Over time, this extra load can contribute to a range of overuse injuries including shin splints, knee pain and stress fractures.

Running on softer surfaces like grass or trails allows your body to absorb impact more effectively, which can reduce the strain placed on your joints over time.

Something as simple as changing where you run can make a real difference to how your body holds up through training. 💪

If you have been dealing with a running related niggle or injury, we can help identify what's contributing and get you back on track.

Did you know weight

Did you know weight bearing activities help build bone mass and prevent osteoporosis? 💡

Most people don't think about their bone health until something goes wrong. But the activities you do now have a big impact on how strong your bones are later in life.

Weight bearing exercises like walking, jogging and resistance training place healthy stress on your bones, which signals your body to build and maintain bone density. Without enough of this, bone mass can decline over time and increase the risk of fractures and osteoporosis.

It's never too early or too late to start. 🦴

At West Lakes Physio, we can help you build a safe and effective movement plan that supports your bone health and keeps you active for the long term. 🙌

Got pain on the outs

Got pain on the outside of your elbow? It could be Tennis Elbow, and you don't need to play tennis to get it. 🎾

Tennis Elbow is a common condition that affects office workers, tradespeople and anyone who performs repetitive gripping or wrist movements on a regular basis.

It's notoriously difficult to treat and can linger for a long time if not managed correctly. Many people push through the discomfort without realising that the right approach early on can make a significant difference to recovery time.

The good news is that with patience and a targeted exercise program, most people are able to get on top of it and return to their normal activities without pain.

At West Lakes Physio, we can assess what's driving your elbow pain and put together a plan to help you recover properly and prevent it from coming back.
