Shin pain can be frustrating, especially when it keeps coming back. Often, shin splints are linked to a mix of factors such as tight calf muscles, unsupportive footwear, training errors, and repeated impact on hard surfaces.
The good news is that the right treatment plan can help address the cause, not just the pain. At West Lakes Physio - Sports & Rehab, we can assess your running load, strength, flexibility, footwear, and movement patterns to help you get back on track. ✅
If shin pain is stopping you from enjoying your walking, running, or sport, don’t ignore it.
Whether you are running for fitness, fresh air, or a bit of headspace, pain can take the enjoyment out of it quickly 😣
Our physios can help work out what is contributing to your pain and guide you with the right treatment, rehab, and advice so you can get back to running more comfortably and confidently 💪
If running has become frustrating, we are here to help.
Do discs slip? It’s a common phrase, but discs do not usually “slip” out of place.
The discs in your spine are strong, supportive structures that sit between the vertebrae. Sometimes they can become irritated or bulge, and this may contribute to back pain, but that does not mean your back is unstable or “out”.
For many people, understanding what is really going on can reduce fear and help them move with more confidence. With the right advice, hands-on care, and targeted exercise, back pain can often improve well.
If back pain is limiting you, our physios are here to help.
