An MRI can show us a lot — but not every finding explains your pain.

Changes such as disc degeneration, arthritis and other “wear and tear” findings become increasingly common as we get older and can also be found in people who have no pain at all.

That doesn’t mean scans aren’t useful. It means the results need to be considered alongside:
✔ where and how you hurt
✔ how your symptoms started
✔ your movement and strength
✔ your clinical assessment

Sometimes imaging is important, especially if there is pain radiating down the leg or arm that isn't going away and if surgery is being considered. Other times, a good assessment can help determine the best next step without needing a scan straight away.

It’s not just what the scan shows — it’s whether it fits your symptoms.

September is Chronic

September is Chronic Pain Awareness Month 💛 At WEST LAKES PHYSIO-SPORTS & REHAB, we see how fear of “doing too much” can keep people from living, dreaming, and moving forward. But progress doesn’t have to be big to be real—small, guided steps can build confidence and capacity. 🌿✨

This month, choose “Do more” in a gentle way: a short walk, a mobility stretch, or a physio-led plan that paces activity safely. You don’t have to do it alone—let’s support you. ✅
